The brand name "YOKE" refers to "connecting," "bonds," and "the fabric used to join parts of a garment," all of which align with the brand's core concept.
The process of creating a single garment involves many people:
Raw materials → Yarn → Fabric → Cutting → Sewing → Finishing.
A garment is completed when these steps are "connected." By thoroughly understanding each stage and ensuring they are linked, the brand embodies the philosophy: "Objects connect people, people connect people, and people connect objects."
The designer is Norio Terada.
After graduating from the Design Department at Bunka Fashion College, he built his career at domestic brands and select shops.
After gaining experience in design and production management, he went independent in 2016 and launched YOKE starting with the 2018 Autumn/Winter collection.
"Wool Cashmere Fleece Half Zip Pullover"
Design
A half-zip pullover made from wool cashmere flannel. The leather piping around the collar and front adds an elegant accent to the sporty design.
Fabric
The gauze flannel, a blend of white cashmere and fine lamb's wool, features the smoothness of cashmere combined with the loft and elasticity of lamb's wool, offering a soft, enveloping texture created through a brushing process.
