MITTAN (ミッタン)
Based on the history of clothing and textiles found around the world, MITTAN proposes modern ethnic wear.
By reinterpreting planar structures and combining them with the inherent functionality of natural materials, we aim to create long-lasting garments that are not swayed by fleeting trends.
－Production Background－
We primarily use machine-woven fabrics from various regions in Japan, such as Enshu, Banshu, and Bishu, as well as hand-woven fabrics from Asian countries like India and Laos.
Our designers visit the weaving mills directly whenever possible and are involved in developing unique materials.
We also use cotton threads for sewing, and natural materials for woven labels, quality labels, and buttons, with sewing carried out in partner factories in Japan.
In addition to regular dyes, we use plants, indigo, insects, and minerals for dyeing, appreciating the uneven color transitions as a form of beauty.
－Regarding Repairs for MITTAN Products－
MITTAN garments are designed to be worn for a long time, not just for one season, even when the fabric starts to wear thin. To ensure long-term use, we offer repair services.
