MITTAN
MITTAN proposes modern ethnic clothing based on the history of clothing and textiles found around the world.
By reinterpreting flat structures and combining them with the inherent functionality of natural materials, we aim to create long-lasting clothing that is not swayed by fleeting trends.
- Production Background -
Fabrics are primarily machine-woven from various regions in Japan, such as Enshu, Banshu, and Bishu, as well as hand-woven fabrics from Asian countries like India and Laos.
The designer visits the weaving factories directly whenever possible and works on developing unique materials.
In addition, cotton thread is mainly used for stitching, and natural materials are used for accessories such as woven labels, quality tags, and buttons. Sewing is carried out at partner factories in Japan.
For dyeing, in addition to regular dyes, natural dyes from plants, indigo, insects, and minerals are used, and the uneven color transitions are also appreciated as beauty.

Sizes are indicated as 1, 2, and 3.
As a rough guide, 1 is women's M, 2 is men's M, and 3 is men's L.
