The Horween Chromexcel leather used is a proprietary product name of Horween, developed using methods established approximately 100 years ago. Raw hides are carefully selected and tanned, then slowly steeped in a special oil blend of beef tallow, beeswax, vegetable oils, and fish oils, not artificially, but at "the hide's own pace." While typical leathers usually use materials with good penetration rates like petroleum to chemically impregnate the leather with oil, this leather, produced over several times the usual duration, emanates a unique texture and profound feel that is incomparable to other leathers.
