The brand name YOKE comes from the word "yoke," which means: It has meanings such as "to connect," "bond," and "the fabric used to join different pieces of clothing together," which aligns with the brand's concept.
The process of making a single piece of clothing involves:
Raw materials → Yarn → Fabric → Cutting → Sewing → Finishing
Many people are involved in the process from concept to product.
Clothing is created when these things " connect. " The brand firmly understands these processes and the connections between them. It embodies the idea of "things connecting people, people connecting people, and people connecting things."
The designer is Norio Terada .
After graduating from the design course at Bunka Gakuen University of Fashion, I gained experience working for domestic brands and select shops.
After gaining experience in design and production management, I became independent in 2016. I started YOKE with the Fall/Winter 2018 collection.
"Vintage Denim Coverall Half Coat"
A new denim coverall half-coat. This item is a coverall jacket made larger and cropped to half-coat length. The collar is corduroy, and while typically we use Neova buttons or dot buttons on the front, this time we've used water buffalo horn buttons—a less casual type of button—to create a sense of incongruity. While it has a vintage wash, we've finished it to be as clean-looking as possible.
Fabric
This denim aims for a vintage feel by using high-quality, unevenly-dyed threads in both the warp and weft. While the fabric weighs 11.5oz , making it slightly lighter, the balance of warp and weft threads has been adjusted to give it the appearance of a heavier 13oz denim. Regarding dyeing, only indigo is used without any sulfide dyes, resulting in a particularly deep indigo blue.
