The brand PETROSOLAUM started in 2012-13AW.
We aim to create products that combine, at a high level, items that serve as protection for the feet and items that are works of art.
We create shoes that reflect our new challenges and unique ideas, based on traditional manufacturing methods passed down through generations, to maximize the properties and characteristics of the animals used for the materials, honoring them with respect.
The brand name is a coinage combining the word Petroleum, meaning oil, and the designer's name Sotaro.
The fingerprint mark on the insole, inspired by oil-stained fingertips, expresses a commitment to craftsmanship and a deep consideration for manufacturing.

Collaboration shoes between the Belgian fashion brand JAN-JAN VAN ESSCHE and PETROSOLAUM.
These are clog-shaped shoes with a strap on the heel. The strap is elastic, making them easy to put on and take off, and providing a secure fit.
The upper is made of deerskin suede, and the sole is made by Vibram.
