PETROSOLAUM
The brand PETROSOLAUM started in 2012-13AW.
We aim to create products that combine a high level of product as a tool to protect the feet and a product as an art piece.
We respect the animals used for materials and create shoes that reflect new challenges and our own philosophy, based on traditional manufacturing methods passed down through generations to maximize their properties and characteristics.
The brand name is a coined word combining "Petroleum," which means oil, and Sotaro, the designer's name.
The fingerprint mark on the insole, which is inspired by oil-stained fingertips, expresses a message of dedication to craftsmanship and deep consideration for manufacturing.
"Cage Sandal"
These highly-designed sandals incorporate the "Yatsume-ami" (eight-eye weave) technique used in bamboo baskets from Beppu City, Oita Prefecture. Made from horsehide, they conform well to the foot for a comfortable fit. The heel can be adjusted with a strap. Enjoy them barefoot or paired with socks.
