The brand name YOKE comes from the word "yoke," which means: It has meanings such as "to connect," "bond," and "the fabric used to join different pieces of clothing together," which aligns with the brand's concept.
The process of making a single piece of clothing involves:
Raw materials → Yarn → Fabric → Cutting → Sewing → Finishing
Many people are involved in the process from concept to product.
Clothing is created when these things " connect. " The brand firmly understands these processes and the connections between them. It embodies the idea of "things connecting people, people connecting people, and people connecting things."
The designer is Norio Terada .
After graduating from the design course at Bunka Gakuen University of Fashion, I gained experience working for domestic brands and select shops.
After gaining experience in design and production management, I became independent in 2016. I started YOKE with the Fall/Winter 2018 collection.
"Easy Pants Made of Sheep Leather"
Design
These are easy-to-wear pants made of sheep leather. The waist is elastic with a drawstring of the same fabric, making them easy to wear. There are welt pockets on both sides, using the seam of the fabric.
Material
Made from A- grade sheepskin with minimal blemishes, this leather is dyed and finished in a natural, un-embossed state, resulting in a softness that is inherent to the raw hide. The oil-tanning and milling process during dyeing creates a plump, soft texture, and the fine, sponge-like fibers in the dermis provide excellent insulation.
