YOKE focuses on materials and patterns, adding contemporary elements to standard items.
It proposes sophisticated items that can be worn unisex.
The brand name YOKE means "to connect," "bond," and "yoke (a shaped piece of fabric in a garment)," which relates to the brand's concept.
Many people are involved in the process of making a single garment,
from raw materials to yarn, fabric, cutting, sewing, and finishing.
A garment is created when these elements are "connected." The brand aims to deeply understand and connect these processes, embodying the idea that "things connect people, people connect people, and people connect things."
The designer is Norio Terada.
After graduating from Bunka Fashion College with a design major, he gained experience at domestic brands and select shops.
After working in design and production management, he became independent in 2016. He launched YOKE with the Autumn/Winter 2018 collection.
"Calf Nappa Leather Minimal Blouson"
This piece features a compact silhouette with high sleeve caps, a minimalist design with seam pockets and a cut-off finish. It uses rare calf leather from calves under 6 months old, treated with a dyed wax finish and nappa processing for a supple texture and a rich aging process to enjoy.
