YOKE
Focusing on materials and patterns, YOKE adds contemporary elements to standard items.
It proposes sophisticated items that can be worn by all genders.
The brand name "YOKE" has meanings such as "connect," "bond," and "the fabric that connects pieces of clothing," which resonates with the brand's concept.
In the process of making a single piece of clothing,
many people are involved from raw material → thread → fabric → cutting → sewing → finishing until it becomes a product.
Clothes are created when these elements "connect." By thoroughly understanding and connecting these processes, the brand embodies the idea that "things connect people, people connect people, and people connect things."
The designer is Norio Terada.
After graduating from Bunka Fashion College with a major in design, he gained experience at domestic brands and select shops.
After gaining experience in design and production management, he became independent in 2016. He launched YOKE with the Autumn/Winter 2018 collection.
"GARMENT-DYED YOKE T-SHIRT"
Design
This is a classic YOKE T-shirt dyed with garment dye. Inspired by Paul Klee's artwork, it is double-dyed with dyes and pigments to express a watercolor-like bleeding effect, resulting in a unique uneven texture. Although seemingly simple, it features a characteristic switch from the back yoke to both sleeves, with a set-in front and dolman sleeves at the back. It has a slightly relaxed silhouette.
Fabric
Made with 40/2 organic cotton jersey, it offers the soft texture and natural luster unique to Indian cotton.
