Corgi Hosiery is a knitwear manufacturer founded in South Wales, England in 1893.
Coal mines were the main industry in the Wales region at the time of its founding, and we started manufacturing handmade socks because we wanted to wear warm long socks for the workers working there.
After that, the sales in the United States were successful and got a high reputation as a sock maker.
In 1960, we started producing intarsia knitwear with hand frames, and later added cashmere material, so that it was recognized by high-end Parisian maisons.
In 1988, Prince Charles was granted a Royal Warrant for his 10 years of habitual use of knitwear and socks.
Even in the 21st century, while most manufacturers have moved to mass production by machines, Corgi still sticks to handmade by craftsmen and undertakes the production of knit products for famous Maison brands.
RYUKYU INDIGO
Ryukyu indigo, which has been cultivated in Okinawa since ancient times and used as a dye for indigo dyeing, is an indispensable dye for dyeing and weaving in Okinawa. The cultivation method is harsh, and in order to grow high-quality indigo leaves, thorough cultivation management and techniques, as well as strong physical strength and mental strength to withstand the heavy labor in the process of indigo making, are required.
